IT IS FINISHED!!!
THE HOUSE IS LISTED AND ON THE MARKET!
WHEW! WHAT A JOURNEY THIS HAS BEEN!
Billy and I never knew what we were stepping into when we decided to remodel this house before we left for the UK. Our house was in shambles really, and needed so much fixing up before we could sell it. Our siding was rotten, brittle, cracking, and falling off in places, we needed a new roof, the windows were old and battered, there wasn’t storage, the cabinets were falling apart and the plaster on the ceiling was buckling in several places and we thought we might have an episode like we did a few years ago when the ceiling caved in the kitchen. We always had plans to fix it up, but both of worked more hours than we should have, and a single project would take an extraordinary amount of time, because we never had time to work on it. We really didn’t have a choice but to fix it before we could sell it.
July of 2022 Billy quit his job so he could work on the house full time- but there was still much to be done before he could begin working on it. We had to clear out 12 years of junk that we had accumulated, and that took us a few months to just get everything that we could out and sorted. Construction started on the house in early September – and now 1 year later, we are finally finished!
The journey was long and hard. We had lots of ups on the journey, but wayyy more downs. God used the journey to strip us down to nothing. Yall have seen my previous posts, so I am not going to go into too much detail on those, but God really worked on us. In every high and in every low, there was a lesson. I think we have been in boot camp for the past year! While we worked on every nook and cranny of that house, God was working on every nook and cranny of us! While there are many races to run in life, this is one race that I am glad is finished. We both felt immense relief when we were finally able to get it listed. Although we know this particular journey is almost over (we are still waiting on a buyer) – a new race is just beginning.
It’s time for a new race for a new year!~ Welcome to 5784! For those of you that don’t follow the Jewish calendar, Friday, September 15th at sundown was the beginning of the new Jewish year! Happy Rosh Hoshana! It is the year of open doors! Whoohoo! With this new year, God is ushering us into a new season. A season of open doors and more changes! Another race to be fought, and more lessons to be learned. While I am still battle weary from the last race, I am looking forward to this new race and all the challenges it will bring, as we learn to trust the Lord even more on this journey we are on.
What’s next for us? Well, the move to the UK will be here quickly now. Once the house is under contract and we have a closing date, Billy and I will begin to set an actual date to leave the USA. and head to the UK. We are praying that the Lord send us the right buyer. We worked hard on this house, Billy really did pay attention to every little detail. We lived in the house for 12 years, so we knew every issue that arose while we were there, so every single issue has been fixed. All the while we were praying for the buyers of the house, that God would send the right buyers to it, and that the home would be a blessing to them for many years to come. I am sure I’ll be writing more soon about the details of our move. We know the holidays are coming around again, but as of right now, if our house sells, we do not plan to stay in country for the holidays. We want to get to the UK and get going on ministry!
We thank all of you for your many prayers, and both your financial and emotional support while we have been on this journey! Please continue to agree with us for a quick and smooth sale of our house, the perfect buyer, and the Lord’s perfect timing for our transition to the UK!
We love you all!
