When we got back from the conference with Fountains, we were so tired and decided to spend Monday just resting. Mocha was begging to go out to potty and I got up to take her out, and when I came back down, our neighbor was sitting outside smoking and began asking questions about us and so we chatted for a few minutes. Once she found out we were Christians, she began asking so many questions about Christianity and what we believed. I got to talk with her about Adam and Eve, sin, Jesus’ death and resurrection, heaven and hell, etc. We talked for a good 35 minutes. She didn’t accept Christ that day, because we got interrupted, but I know the Lord used me to plant a seed in her mind for Him. I continue to pray for her that she will find Jesus as her Lord and Savior.
On Tuesday, we went to Community meal and chatted with the people there, and we prayed for many in the community and the world’s issues too. That evening we went to a mission night at New Life Community Church where we heard about the mission of One by One, a program that goes into Africa to free people from sex trafficking and provides education to people to prevent it all together. We wept listening to the stories of the way God had provided for them through the years, and turned one woman’s dream of a girl’s home into a worldwide ministry. I felt so strongly that the Lord was speaking to Billy and me about not being anxious about finances or provision for the next steps, because if you are willing to step and say Yes, then he will provide. She had stories of food being multiplied, miraculous provision for buildings coming in, etc.
On Wednesday, we hung out with our new friend, Vivi, and she showed us around Halifax, and then introduced us to some worship leaders in the area we hadn’t met before. They were coming to her house that evening to do a Zoom worship session, so we joined in with them. After it was over, the worship leaders invited us to come to a CSSM class in the area on Thursday night. They said they really felt like we should be there and that they would get our tickets if we wanted to go, so we quickly agreed to come.
We went to the session Thursday night and Billy and I both wept as we listened to Paul Manwaring teach on encounters and the transition of Saul to Paul from one encounter with Jesus. We were so touched by that service that we decided we would come on Saturday for those sessions too. Saturday was a continuation of Thursday night. The teaching was so good. I could have listened to him teach all day. Billy and I also received not one, but 2, prophetic words, and they were so spot on and provided so much encouragement to us in this season.
Sunday was Pentecost Sunday, and Billy and I had been scheduled to preach at a church in Leeds, but it got postponed to a later date at the last minute. Instead, we had planned to attend this huge evangelistic event in Bradford, where thousands gathered to publicly worship Jesus and evangelize the city, but unfortunately, I had overdone it and my hip wasn’t playing nicely at the time. There was such a good report coming back from the event in Bradford though. I hate we were not able to be a part of it.
One verse the Lord gave us this week to stand on was Genesis 28:15. The Lord woke me out of a dead sleep with this verse on my mind. It says “Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring you back to this land; for I will not leave you until I have done what I have spoken to you.”
Pray for Bradford. There are so many nationalities here. There is a large Islamic population with many Mosques spread throughout the city, as well as many Hindu temples, and various other forms of religion. The Christian churches in the area do so much for outreach to the population here, but they need all the help they can get. Thanks for partnering with us to be here in this season.
I tried something different this time. Click below to see our you tube video.
